Copying bib records

Creating new bibliographical record based on another using Millennium.


open record to be copied

go to Edit, click “copy record”. This will “release” the record being copied and will not create a duplicate when the following editing is performed.

edit fixed fields: Change location, cat date, mat type, input, initials, country.

right click Marc leader, expand, make appropriate changes

remove 001-006

add or edit 007 and 008

remove all fields above main entry that are not applicable, add new ISBN in 020, and other publisher's or manufacturer's numbers in 024 or 028.

edit 245, adding GMD if needed

edit 260, 300, and the rest of the record

insert 929 field with your initials, ie. “fmlbemc”
